MAWEV Show 2012: Exhibition Spaces Virtually Sold Out

The MAWEV Show, held from 21 to 24 March 2012, is considered by many industry experts to be the “turbocharger of construction giants”. More than 250 top-class exhibitors from 10 countries will present no less than 1,000 state-of-the-art construction machines and construction vehicles by national and international manufacturers. The majority of these will be available for trade visitors to try out. The 8th edition of this extraordinary event for construction machines will be staged in the Port of Enns/Enns Business Park -right in the heart of Austria just 30 km from Linz.

Huge demand: only a few vacant spaces still available
The MAWEV Show is organized every three years by the Association of Austrian Construction Machinery Dealers and is impressive mainly because around half of the 1,000 sometimes mighty machines are shown in use under realistic conditions. In terms of exhibitors, the MAWEV Show 2012 is all but sold out. 98% of the exhibition space was already booked in January. The open-air site is already fully booked and there are only a few vacant spaces still remaining.
Europe’s biggest demonstration event in the construction machinery and construction vehicle sector
Trade visitors have free entry to the MAWEV Show 2012 where they can get an idea of more than 1,000 of the most up-to-date construction machines and construction vehicles and can gain an overview of the latest developments on the market. The special thing about the event is first and foremost the unique opportunity for trade visitors to try out the latest equipment immediately on site. Over 100,000 m² of pure exhibition space and a mobile hall offering a further 7,000 m² will be available to showcase the pageant of excavators, cranes and other mighty construction machines. Visitors will be able to sample a wide range of culinary delights in the hall’s 600 m² catering area. A container village will be available as a service centre and press centre. Trade visitors will be kept well-informed using the video wall located directly on site.
Preparations are in full swing
The Port of Enns/Enns Business Park in Upper Austria, just 30 km from Linz, will serve as the event site for the MAWEV Show 2012. Work on adapting the site is already at a very advanced stage. Local conditions for the companies exhibiting are virtually perfect. Five grading machines spent three weeks in continuous use for clearance of the 120,000 m². The soil mixture of fine and coarse-grained gravel is the perfect base for the exhibition site.
Project manager Siegfried Erker from Messe Graz says, “Construction of the roads and paths is scheduled for the beginning of February. After this, digging work will begin for the water pipes and waste water disposal system and for setting up the containers. The remaining exhibition blocks will be surveyed after erection of the mobile hall with its overall footprint of 6,725 m². Finally, the cables will be laid for the power supply and the first of the exhibitors’ structures will be erected from the beginning of March onwards.”

Direct motorway connection, ample parking areas and free shuttle service

The new motorway exit from the A1 “Enns/West” is not very far at all from the event site. A sophisticated traffic control system will ensure a smooth arrival. Additional movement areas have also been defined as part of the new traffic concept. The result, among other things, is the availability of significantly more parking areas than in previous years – 30,000 m² for exhibitors and another 30,000 m² for visitors. The free shuttle bus service will provide trade visitors with a comfortable transfer from the car park to the exhibition site 2 km away and back again. The perfect qualifications for smooth delivery and visitor logistics.
