This year’s World Demolition Summit (WDS), the seventh to be held, promises to be the most international in the event’s history, with conference presentations from four continents and shortlisted award entries from 35 companies in nine countries.
A total of 51 shortlisted entries will compete in 11 categories at the awards dinner in Amsterdam on 6 November. Preceding the awards dinner is the Summit conference, which will see reports on demolition and recycling from Australia, India, Denmark, USA and Europe.
The one-day event, which is again organised by Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) magazine in cooperation with the European Demolition Association (EDA), combines a top class conference with an awards dinner celebrating excellence in the industry.
Lindsay Gale, Editor of D&Ri, said the event was shaping up to be one of the most successful in its history; “We have world-renowned contractors, clients and manufacturers competing in the awards with some fantastic projects and innovations. The awards are an annual snapshot of all that’s best in the demolition and recycling industry.
“The conference programme also highlights some fascinating projects and research – this year from India, USA, New Zealand and Denmark – and showcases innovative thinking in safety, urban redevelopment and recycling policy.”
