Construction Industry Heavyweights Pursue Middle East Expansian Plans as Market Recovery Continues

Major international manufacturers to launch new products and drive innovation at Big 5 PMV
Major international manufacturers are expressing confidence in the Middle East construction market and are actively pursuing expansion plans as the industry continues to recover from the economic downturn.
Fibo intercon, a leading Danish supplier to the global concrete industry with more than 70 years experience, said the Middle East region presents many opportunities for manufacturers from Europe looking to expand their operations following the downturn.
“We are focusing a lot of attention on the Arab markets at the moment. We want to strengthen our position in the MENA region, extend our representative network and establish our own sales organisation in the UAE to capitalise on the ongoing opportunities here,” said Jens Bollerup, Managing Director and CEO of fibo intercon.
The company, which manufactures and delivers mobile, semi-mobile and stationary concrete batching plants as well as production equipment and complete production systems globally, is participating in the Big 5 PMV, the region’s leading exhibition for construction plant, machinery, equipment and vehicles from 22-25 November in Dubai to meet potential business partners and customers from the region.
Fibo Intercon will also use the event to launch updated versions of their mobile batching plants B1200 and M2200.  “The global economic slowdown provided an opportunity for us to be more innovative and ‘think outside the box’. We look forward to presenting the mobile batching plants at the show, which have been adapted to meet the requirements of the MENA market,” said Bollerup.
BEST Tyre Protection Sealant, a Greek company which manufactures and exports chemical additives for use in heavy duty vehicles, and exports them to North America, Europe, North Africa and the Far East, said in comparison to other construction markets, the Middle East is showing positive signs of recovery.
Anthony Peter Fragatos, CEO of BEST Tyre Protection Sealant said: “Although the Middle East construction industry has been affected by the global economic downturn, the region is still the most promising market in the world compared to the situation in Europe and the USA.”
The company will launch three innovative products and look for exclusive distributors at the Big 5 PMV, which is taking place at The Arena, Sheikh Saeed Halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the Big 5, the Middle East’s largest and most influential construction industry event.
“The Big 5 PMV is the perfect event for our unique range of products.  After years of testing, we are ready to introduce three new chemicals to the Middle East market at the event,” he said.
The largest and most important construction machinery event in the region, this year’s Big 5 PMV will feature a new live demonstration area, allowing key buyers from across the region and oversees to meet face-to-face with leading manufacturers and suppliers and to experience the latest innovations and technology first-hand.
Highlighting the strong international interest in the Middle East construction industry, the event has already attracted exhibitors from Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
