Infrastructure projects stimulating the Russian construction machinery market
After the recession of the past few years, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development expects a rise again in GDP of 0.6 to 0.8 percent. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development also predicts moderate economic growth. More than twenty construction and infrastructure projects launched in the Russian Federation in the last few years with a high level of investment give the construction industry cause for hope. Examples include a transportation route through the Kerch Strait, the Power of Siberia pipeline, and an infrastructure project on the Siberian Yamal peninsula in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug sea port of Sabetta. In addition, more than 60 percent of the Russian regions, such as Moscow, Tatarstan, and KhantyMansiysk, plan developments, especially in the area of residential construction. The 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Winter Universiade will also increase the construction volume and thus drive the purchase of new machinery.
