With its focus on “digital construction site Part 2”, the 64th edition of NordBau accompanies all those responsible for construction on the way to the networked construction site, and the 8th “nordjob-Bau-Infotag” puts the fascination of building occupations back in the spotlight of visitors.

(Neumünster) From the 11th to 15th September 2019, the 64th edition of NordBau invites you to the Holstenhallen Exhibition Center in Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein. The largest compact exhibition for construction in Northern Europe is the platform for civil engineers, builders, architects and craftsmen.

The “digital construction site Part 2” – step by step into a networked future!
Digitalization presents all those responsible for construction, construction sites, mechanical engineering and the planning office with major challenges. The level of knowledge about digital planning and design varies greatly from one construction and machine managers to the other. For this reason, NordBau, in close cooperation with the VDBUM – Association of the Construction, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering e.V., focused on the “digital construction site” and presented it very vividly and comprehensively at last year’s NordBau. The great interest of the visitors in this complex topic area shows how important it is to explain the digital work processes to those involved in construction and to identify possibilities for the future. For this reason, this successful concept will be continued at the 64th edition of NordBau with the “digital construction site Part 2”. Dieter Schnittjer, Managing Director of the VDBUM, says: “A very decisive factor in the comprehensive topic of digitization is, that not everything that is digitally possible has to be implemented. In the future, we will use digital work processes as the normality in our operations on the construction site. But every company will decide for itself which processes are important for their working environment. It is like buying accessories or new technology in construction machines, talking to professionals who advise you. This also applies to the digital equipment. With the theme “digital construction site Part 2″, we want to show that digitization is tangible and feasible for all businesses, if we break down the entire process into sub-requirements and everyone chooses what their daily work requires.”

nordjob-Bau-Infotag – Fascination with construction professions or who will build the construction site of tomorrow?
On the 12th of September 2019, NordBau will once again offer young people the opportunity to gain exciting insights into the construction industry. In cooperation with the Institute for Talent Development IfT from Kiel, more than 1,000 announced pupils from Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will be informed directly on site about the multitude of modern construction professions. In addition, they can take direct actions and have firsthand experience of the construction industry. Kathrin Walsch, North IfT Managing Director, is pleased about the long-standing cooperation with NordBau: “For the eighth year, the students’ day at NordBau has been a source of inspiration and a platform for inspiring young people in the construction industry. It offers a unique extracurricular learning location to provide in-depth and technical information about industries and opportunities in construction industry and crafts. From construction and civil engineering to construction machinery – construction jobs are not only diverse and interesting, but also future-oriented. Dedicated and motivated employees will find a solid career springboard there.” The young visitors will be personally prepared in advance of the students’ day for the NordBau visit and will schedule meetings in advance, so that they can be expected on site. In addition, groups are led through the exhibition grounds in a targeted manner and receive broad information on training occupations and dual study courses in the construction industry at stations with an experiential character and practical demonstrations.

Symposia, advanced training seminars and apprenticeship completions
Many municipalities, working groups, trade associations and groups have been using NordBau for many years to organize their seminars and technical meetings. Once again, this year, more than fifty events will take place on the grounds of the Holstenhallen Neumünster – with well over 4,000 participants! Two-thirds of the seminars are recognized by the Chamber of Architects and Engineers as an official training event. For the first time, the house painters and decorators of Schleswig-Holstein, together with their colleagues from Hamburg, will hold a four-day performance competition in Hall 8. In addition, the Schleswig-Holstein State Association of roofers will hold its apprenticeship completion ceremony, with about 500 guests on Friday of the fair, in a very solemn event. Together with the popular meeting point “Construction Manager & Foremen”, NordBau will once again this year set important impulses for all decision-makers in the industry.

Construction machines, municipal equipment and commercial vehicles on a huge open space
Although NordBau is the largest compact construction exhibition in Northern Europe, construction machines, municipal equipment and commercial vehicles naturally attract the attention of visitors. In Neumünster, all major manufacturers in the industry are represented, showing new trends and modern, efficient machines. High-quality products that are powerful, reliable but manageable in terms of energy consumption are highly valued by machine operators and contractors. Electric-powered construction machines and equipment are increasingly on offer by manufacturers. Intelligent software, used in vehicles or machines, will take over the work of people tomorrow, who will then take up other specialists works. This is how innovative manufacturers respond to the ongoing shortage of skilled workers. Visitors can see many construction machines in action on the 69,000 square meter outdoor area, and even try out construction equipment simulators. On the open-air site at the south entrance, the commercial vehicles are presented, with large and small transporters for construction and crafts, vehicle equipment, trailers and loading cranes.

Figures, dates and facts
Last year, NordBau once again impressively demonstrated its position as the most important construction exhibition in Northern Germany and the entire Baltic Sea region, on an outdoor area of more than 69,000 square meters and more than 20,000 square meters of hall space. More than 800 exhibitors from 13 countries informed around 64,000 visitors about new trends in the construction industry. A total of 4,300 conference participants attended the 50 symposia! Via NordBau, the exhibitors have since 1956, been able to reach numerous trade visitors, who are visiting this trade fair for professional reasons, as well as end customers (public and private builders). Thus, NordBau has a high degree of acceptance and attraction for all those interested in construction and people working in the construction industry. In addition, NordBau has been cooperating with the partner country Denmark for over 40 years, which sees the trade fair as the basis for the German and European market!

The 64th edition of NordBau will take place from the 11th to 15th of September 2019, at the Holstenhallen in Neumünster.
