It is the best performance over the last two years, which means that from the beginning of the global crisis, and the second world performance after China’s. The data, registered on a yearly basis, has been sustained by a powerful industrial growth: + 12 %. Services have also seen a positive growth of approximately 10 %. Indian economy, in the period taken into consideration, has turned out to be formed by services (55 %), while industry is at 25 %. The increase of the national wealth, to be foreseen for such an economic giant that today is still at the 11th position among the world’s economies but that is destined to gain quite different positions, is producing in India a much higher individual wealth.

Infrastructures, innovation, instruction. These are the points on which India mostly has to work to win the challenges of global competition, according to the international experts who met last year (New Delhi 8th – 10th November) during the yearly summit dedicated to Asian countries, organized by the World Economic Forum. According to the valuations done after five years of growth at 9%, Indian economy has had an expansion of 6,7% in 2008-2009 and it is foreseen a + 6,5% by the end of 2010, and then a return to a steady 9%.
