This benchmark event – returning in its fourth guise from 1-4 December – is recognized by the international community for being the ideal platform to secure smart business partnerships and a unique chance to tap into industry and governmental expertise at a time when the Government of Vietnam has been furthering the attraction to the capital flow of foreign direct investment by making a priority of building and developing the infrastructure system such as transport, seaports, electricity and water supplies, construction of infrastructure for both industrial zones and urban areas.
The Vietnamese Government has also been applying a series of incentives for investors and investment projects including ‘tax preferences, loss shifting, preferences on land use and giving preferential treatment to investors in industrial parks, export processing zones, hi-tech parks, economic zones. (www.fia.mpi.gov.au) Following on from the exceedingly successful ConBuild Vietnam 2009, the international trade show for construction and building, will coincide with what is expected to be a wave of added investment in the country’s infrastructure, with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approving US$18.09bn for the construction and development of the road system in the country and current projects including Ho Chi Minh City’s two infrastructure development projects (namely West-East Saigon highway worth US$154 million and a water environment improvement project valued at US$47.9 million).
