SDLG displays robust and reliable products at first-ever bauma Africa

Leading Chinese construction equipment manufacturer, Shandong Lingong Machinery Co., Ltd. (SDLG), showed a broad range of products at the inaugural bauma Africa where the company was present alongside South African dealer, Babcock International Group. The emphasis for both SDLG and Babcock was on delivering strong service and parts support for the famously easy-to-maintain machines.

SDLG was proud to show a range of wheel loaders, excavators, motor graders and road rollers alongside its trusted South African national dealer Babcock, at the first ever bauma Africa. The international trade fair for construction machinery took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 18 — 21 September. Inside the 5,600 sq. m Gallagher Convention Centre, SDLG took a large space to accommodate its products and gave pride of place to two new hydraulic excavators – the LG6210E and LG6150E – which made their South African debut before an estimated 15,000 visitors attending the show.

Robust products for a robust market

SDLG displays robust and reliable products at first-ever bauma Africa

The newly launched excavators were displayed alongside SDLG’s latest motor grader, the 146 kW rated G9190. Powered by a German-designed Dalian Deutz electronic injection engine, the motor grader offers premium performance – from highways and airports to construction and agricultural applications. The machine comes with a 3.9 m moldboard as standard, for wider grade coverage, and a world-class blade down force of 8,386 kg which maximizes cut depth without front-end drift.

To reinforce the strength of its road machinery portfolio, SDLG displayed its RS7120, a 12 t hydrostatic compact road roller. The company’s road rollers are equipped with a Deutz diesel engine and American SAUER driving pump and motor for efficient performance and low noise during operation. In addition, they feature internationally-recognized Roll-Over Protection Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) for better safety of the operator.

As the leading Chinese manufacturer of wheel loaders, SDLG took the opportunity to highlight its range presently available to the South African market. The company showed the 11 t LG938L, designed for optimum break-out force to ensure a full bucket load with every cycle; and the 17 t L958L, which features a ZF powershift transmission with single-lever control for easy operation. Also on stand at bauma Africa was the 24 t LG978L – the largest in the range — with a bucket capacity of 4.2 m3. This unit drew a lot of interest from visitors working in South Africa’s re-handling industry.

“South Africa is a core market for SDLG and we will continue to develop our products and services to suit the needs of customers here,” explained Wang Xiaohui, head of export sales for SDLG. “We are very proud to display our extensive range of robust and reliable products at the first bauma Africa.”

Trusted partner for life

With over 60 years’ heritage in the region, Babcock is known for its customer-focused approach – boasting a nationwide network of sales, service and parts centers that offer customers the best available support over a machine’s lifetime. Since partnering with SDLG in 2012, Babcock has seen significant demand from the re-handling, construction, quarrying, agricultural and aggregate industries for the Chinese manufacturer’s reliable, cost effective and easy-to-maintain equipment.

“Babcock’s strategically located premises across South Africa allow us to offer customers fast, effective aftermarket support for both new and existing SDLG machines,” said Wang. “Our aim is for customers to partner with us for life so having the support of a company like Babcock allows us to keep our promises in relation to reliable product support.”
